Coconut water is great for you! It’s no wonder that every body is going crazy about it! Coconut water has 5 key electrolytes all in one! It’s great for hydration especially after exercising.
Coconut water is also known for
slowing down aging process.
It has a natural source of cytokinins, a group of plant growth hormones that help regulate cell growth, development and ageing, by balancing pH levels, strengthen and hydrate connective tissues.
Coconut water also regulates blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol! Research shows that coconut water can improve blood speculation, regulate elevated blood pressure therefore reducing the risk of heart attacks and strokes.
Potassium - regulates heartbeat and muscle function
Sodium – gets depleted with exercise but is the primary ion and electrolyte within our bodies, and is needed for blood regulation.
Magnesium – Is the KING in this mixture. It is essential in over 300 biochemical functions in our bodies, such as regulating heartbeat rhythms and helping neurotransmitters to function more efficiently therefore making you more relaxed and helps with anxiety. Most often we are low on magnesium due to medication or simply exercise.
Phosphorus - regulates nerve function and plays an important role in bone health
Calcium – Important for bone health (but must be accompanied by a magnesium)
I personally can’t digest coconut water first thing in the morning. Well as well as it’s not being consumed on an empty stomach. It’s a good idea to be careful for the first few times you have it on an empty stomach. For others it cures Diarrhea. So bazaar.
But all of the benefits don’t come without the cost of the calories, so may be just don’t have it at night before going to bed.
And for the end I would like to add. Isn’t amazing how we don’t have to be living on a small remote island to have access to coconut water! We are so lucky we can just stroll down to our local supermarket to get some of this magical coconut water.
